The post Wilco cover Daniel Johnston’s “True Love Will Find You in the End” live in Berlin: Watch appeared first on Consequence of Sound.
Wilco have long revered the late Daniel Johnston, and even had the chance to play alongside the iconic avant-garde songwriter two years ago. Now, in the wake of Johnston’s sudden passing earlier this week, Jeff Tweedy & co. covered one of his most enduring releases, “True Love Will Find You in the End”, during a show in Berlin.
Wilco took on the 1985 classic at the city’s Tempodrom on Thursday night, as Pitchfork points out. “True Love” served as the penultimate performance in their 27-song set and, as to be expected, was delivered with a somber yet serene tone.

Johnston died on Tuesday at the age of 58 after suffering a heart attack. He was memorialized with countless social media tributes from Beck, M. Ward, and Zola Jesus, among others.
