A new Wichita restaurant featuring a menu swimming in shrimp opens this weekend

Saturday is opening day for El Capitan Sea Food & Grill, a new Mexican seafood restaurant that’s taking over the long-vacant Chick N Max space at Central and Hillside.

The restaurant, whose address is 410 N. Hillside, is owned by Las Vegas transplant Ana Gutierrez and her cousin and will serve standard Mexican dishes like fajitas, burritos, molcajetes and carne asada and also will have a large seafood selection with ceviche oysters, seafood cocktails, aguachiles and more.

The owners sent over a Spanish-only version of their extensive menu, which includes a long list of tacos, several steak preparations and lots of soups. It also lists shrimp dishes galore. Google up an online translator if you need it and check out the menu by following the QR code below. You’ll also find it at the bottom of this post.

The restaurant’s hours will be 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. It will be a full-service restaurant and also will offer beer and micheladas.

The owners say they will be offering discounts during the restaurant’s first week in business. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/elcapitanseafoodandgrill
