Upcoming tvN K-drama Midnight Romance in Hagwon is all set to premiere on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 9:20 p.m. KST on the network. The series, led by Wi Ha-Joon and Jung Ryeo-Won, follows the romantic story of an instructor who, years later, crosses paths with her student whom she helped enter a prestigious university. The drama is set in Daechi-Dong, a neighborhood famous for having private education centers in Korea.

Wi Ha-Joon plays the student, Lee Joon-Ho, while Jung Ryeo-Won essays the role of the popular and experienced lecturer, Seo Hye-Jin. Director Ahn Pan-Seok, known for contributing to romance dramas like Something in the Rain, Secret Love Affair, and One Spring Night, helms the upcoming tvN series. Midnight in Romance revolves around instructor Seo Hye-Jin, who makes it her mission to help her student, Lee Joon-Ho, enter a prestigious university. She works day and night to help him. With over a decade of experience and popularity, she successfully sends her student to a reputed university. Years later, Joon-Ho returns as a rookie instructor and crosses paths with Hye-Jin.

Meanwhile, Hye-Jin meets Joon-Ho at a time when she faces uncertainty in her life and reflects on regrets in the past. Joon-Ho returns to the academy as an instructor after quitting his job at a large company. Instructor Hye-Jin is Joon-Ho’s first love and he makes his return only because he is still in love with her.

Their lives completely change for the better as Joon-Ho makes a significant impact in Hye-Jin’s life. Although Hye-Jin doesn’t understand and opposes his decision, Joon-Ho remains fixated on his first love and approaches her. Viewers will have to wait and see how their story unfolds.

tvN also released a poster to confirm the premiere date. In the photo, Hye-Jin and Joon-Ho make heart-fluttering eye contact as they share a single umbrella amidst pouring rain. The two smile at each other while standing in the narrow lanes of the Hagwon neighborhood, teasing a whirlwind romantic journey.
