Why A Woman Claims She And Teenage Daughter Feel Like “P.O.W.’s” In Their Own Home

“I’m married to an emotionally and verbally abusive man,” claims Sandi. She says the fighting in her home has become so bad, that her husband of 12 years, Iain, has threatened to kick her 15-year-old daughter, Samantha, out of the house 4-5 times within the last year.

TELL DR. PHIL YOUR STORY: At your final breaking point?

Sandi claims that Iain has told Samantha she’s a delinquent, a liar, and a manipulator. “The most hurtful thing that Iain has said is that she’s worthless,” says Sandi, claiming her daughter constantly walks around in fear; saying she feels hated and rejected by her stepfather.

“Samantha is anti-me being around because she can’t do as she pleases,” says Iain who claims his stepdaughter is lazy and inconsiderate. “I’m done with the turmoil that Samantha is causing.” Iain says he wants Samantha out of the house at the end of the school year.

But Sandi says Iain’s mother, Yvonne, is also a big problem. She claims her 86-year-old live-in mother-in-law is constantly “stirring the pot” by, she says, spying on her and Samantha, then telling Iain everything that goes on at home when he is not around.

“It’s like we’re both P.O.W.’s in the same prisoner camp,” says Sandi.

Sandi says she feels like she has to choose between her husband and her daughter. Can Dr. Phil help her decide who to pick?
