“Unfortunately, my Bearcats... are struggling right now in the Big 12," conceded the University of Cincinnati alum
Unfortunately, Travis Kelce’s latest winning streak didn’t extend to a recent bet.
During his Friday afternoon press conference, the University of Cincinnati alum showed up in Iowa State Cyclones mascot headgear. He briefly wore the headpiece after losing a bet to Brad Gee, the Kansas City Chiefs’ vice president of football communications and an Iowa State grad.

On Saturday, Iowa State dominated Cincinnati, 30 -10.
“Yeah, another little friendly wager,” the NFL star, 34, told reporters. “Unfortunately, my Bearcats are struggling right now in the Big 12.”
Kelce remained hopeful, joking that he was ready to call up his old stomping grounds. “I was gonna give Cincinnati a call and figure it out on the run," he said.

Kelce also discussed his recent outings with Taylor Swift Friday. With Halloween approaching, one reporter asked if he had any recommendations for fans and couples who want to dress like the musician and athlete.
“I'll tell you what, man that stash and the 87 jersey was pretty iconic there for a little bit," Kelce said. “I had it when I met Taylor for the first time so I guess just my stash... Maybe a bracelet or something?”
The couple was seen together on Oct. 14, during the Saturday Night Live premiere. Swift introduced the musical guest, Ice Spice, while Kelce appeared in a sketch making fun of the media attention their outings have attracted.
“Man, it was it was funny. Obviously didn't know what was going to what was going to go down and just decided to hit SNL last second,” Kelce said Friday. “They asked me if I wanted to kind of in the skit that was about me and Taylor's takeover of the NFL games, which was hilarious. I loved every bit of it.”
Kelce admitted that his cameo was such a whirlwind he “doesn’t even remember saying anything.”
“I hope I read the card, right?” he joked. “I was laughing my tail off during the skit. The electricity, just the energy from the crowd and just being up there. It felt like I was hosting it all over again.”
The two-time Super Bowl winner also shared some insight into the public’s affinity for his relationship with his older brother, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce. In their off-time, the brothers host the podcast New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce.
Since its launch, the podcast is among the top podcast on Spotify, but Travis admits he and Jason did not anticipate the podcast to land “where it is now.” The Chiefs player admits it's likely the success comes from both teams’ successful 2022-2023 season, as well as meeting up at the 2023 Super Bowl.
