Jameela Jamil has long been one of the most vocal critics of the way that women's bodies are discussed. She's made very sophisticated arguments about the importance of changing beauty standards for the benefit of women of all ages.

As it turns out, Jamil has inspired both regular women and some celebrities as she speaks out about this issue. One of her most ardent fans is actually Taylor Swift, and Taylor has a unique reason for loving the way Jameela speaks.

During a recent interview with Variety, Swift explained that Jamil's words bring Swift a sense of calm. "I love people like Jameela Jamil, because he way she speaks about body image, it’s almost like she speaks in a hook," Swift said. "Women are held to such a ridiculous standard of beauty, and we’re seeing so much on social media that makes us feel like we are less than, or we’re not what we should be, that you kind of need a mantra to repeat in your head when you start to have unhealthy thoughts."

Swift continued by explaining that she thinks Jamil speaks almost like she's singing. "I swear the way Jameela speaks is like lyrics — it gets stuck in my head and it calms me down."

This isn't the first time that Swift has mentioned the calming effect that Jamil has on her. In an interview with People, she mentioned the actress's quotes. "Whenever I feel stress-y about things, I’ll just read some of Jameela Jamil’s quotes about body image and health and normal body weight," Swift said.

The two celebrities have gone out of their way to publicly support one another on numerous occasions. Jamil presented Swift with the Billboard Music Award for Artist of the Decade, calling her a "superstar."

Jamil is currently acting on NBC's "The Good Place," and has also worked as a TV and radio host. She's been a consistent advocate for body positivity throughout her career. She's even called out other celebrities who seemed to promoting harmful stereotypes about women and their bodies.

At one point, Jamil even called out the Kardashians for weight-loss ads. When Khloe Kardashian promoted a weight-loss shake earlier this year, Jamil responded saying "Blah blah blah eating disorder culture blah blah."

Although Swift clearly agrees with Jamil that things like weight loss shakes can be harmful, the Kardashians seem to hold a slightly different opinion. Jamil has been admirably consistent on this, even as she has rocketed to stardom as an actress playing a character who sees herself as perfect.
