Why This ‘Orange Is the New Black’ Star is ‘Most Dangerous’ Celeb to Search for Online

Search for Ruby Rose at your own peril. The “Orange Is the New Black” star has been crowned the “most dangerous celebrity” to search online in 2018, according to security firm McAfee.

Rose generates the “riskiest search results that could potentially expose their fans to malicious websites,” according to McAfee’s study. She grabbed the notorious top spot from Avril Lavigne, who went from the “most dangerous” celeb of 2017 to not even in the top 10.

McAfee said searches for Rose — set to play Batwoman in an upcoming CW series — often exposed fans to “malicious” sites and malware.

“We live in a fast-paced world that’s heavily influenced by pop culture where it’s possible to pick and choose which entertainment options we prefer to enjoy from a variety of connected devices,” Gary Davis, chief consumer security evangelist at McAfee, said in a statement. “Often consumers put speed and convenience over security by clicking on suspicious links that promise content featuring our favorite celebrities, such as our favorite movies, TV shows or pictures.”

Kristin Cavallari took the silver medal behind Rose — although her husband Jay Cutler was nowhere to be found on the “most dangerous” list. Kourtney Kardashian was the lone representative from her family, coming in at number 7.
