Why Martin Short and Steve Martin Are the Perfect Comedy Duo
Martin Short and Steve Martin joined Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show and showed why they are the perfect comedy duo. During the interview, Steve and Marty went back and forth cracking jokes while Jimmy just sat back and enjoyed the show.
Marty complimented Jimmy by saying how good he looks and then threw Steve under the bus, saying, “Steve, by the way, was looking at the monitor. And you said you didn’t think he looked good.” The Jerk star didn’t miss a beat and responded, “No, I said he had childbearing hips.”
The two comedy legends have known each other for 30 years, since they made Three Amigos, and have supported each other’s careers ever since. Marty said, “I’ve seen The Jerk 500 times, at least. And every time I see it, I say the same thing. I always say, ‘Steve, we could watch something else, you know.’”
Steve and Marty haven’t always worked together, but they should have because the two of them together is just pure comedy gold.
