Why Lindsay Hubbard Didn’t Want To Postpone Carl Radke Wedding
The months before Carl Radke and Linsday Hubbard called off their wedding are now immortalized in reality TV history. The former couple aired all their grievances and reconsiderations about each other during Season 8 of Summer House. Ultimately, viewers know that they ended up splitting, but it’s eye-opening to see the disconnect now.
During the most recent episode, Carl jokingly demoted Kyle Cooke to flower boy at the soon-to-be called-off wedding. And the issue of postponement came up as well during the After Show.
Lindsay believed there would always be “another set of issues”
Seated with co-star Gabby Prescod for the Summer House After Show, Lindsay revealed that the topic of delaying the wedding came up often. Yet she always pushed back against the idea. She explained why.
“The reason I always said no is because I truly believed relationships take work, partnership takes work, marriage takes work…” the professional influencer stated. “I’m just like, yeah, we’re still gonna be figuring things out, and 50 years from now, there’s gonna be another set of issues…”
Her ex, on the other hand, was concerned about working through issues before tying the knot. There was a consideration to move the wedding to January 2024, but Lindsay was “adamant” about keeping the November 2023 date.
“I realized right there, basically, we’re doing this now because she wants to have children,” Carl explained.
Certainly, the duo were focusing on different aspects of their relationship. The Loverboy employee understood that Lindsay was taking her “biological clock” into account, but felt that their priority should be addressing concerning “factors” before tying the knot.
“Again, I understand that, but also we need to make sure that we’re right and got the right parts and pieces before we even go to that next phase,” Carl said.
Once again, the disconnect between Lindsay and Carl is glaringly obvious. It was a matter of whether the relationship was a work in progress or not.
