Texas has been longing for elite quarterback play since the departure of Colt McCoy, and after years of mediocrity may have a chance to have two generational quarterbacks in a row.

As we all know, Quinn Ewers is the big man on campus right now without even having taken a snap at Texas. He is expected to restore the program’s greatness that it once held, and Steve Sarkisian is working on making sure that it stays at that elite level.

Sarkisian’s relationship with 2023 five-star Arch Manning has Texas in position to have a loaded quarterback room.

Manning, who Texas is believed to be in the lead for, scheduled the official visits that he will be taking and the order he will be taking them in this upcoming season. Sarkisian and company have to be thrilled with the order, as having the the last visit gives them the chance to be the last voice he hears before possibly making a decision.

Adding a talent like Manning to be the man in waiting after the departure of Ewers would be huge for a program who waited nearly a decade before even having an adequate quarterback in Sam Ehlinger. It would also attract other top recruits in the class to follow Manning, as multiple prospects have suggested they would want to team up with Manning in college.

Texas needs to pull out all the stops to ensure that Manning feels as if he can thrive there, and take advantage of that last visit, as we have seen in many cases that the last visit can end being the school a recruit commits to.
