Why Angie Katsanevas and Husband Shawn Trujillo Haven't Had a Date Night in Two Years
Angie Katsanevas may be a snowflake holder, but she's making sure that things don't get icy in her marriage to Shawn Trujillo.
The spouses live together, work together, and parent their pre-teen daughter, Elektra, together, but they haven't had an actual date night in over two years.
Angie revealed as much on Season 4, Episode 8 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, when she reunited with her dad, Louie, to talk about her relationship with her hairdresser husband. What's more, Angie also discussed how losing her mom at an early age affected her viewpoint on marriage.
Angie Katsanevas Shares an Update on Her Marriage to Shawn Trujillo
During Episode 8, Angie invited her dad aka her "best friend" over to her home to make chicken lemon rice soup. While preparing the dish, Louie asked where Shawn was.
After confirming that he went down to the salon to work, Angie revealed that she hasn't been out on a date night with Shawn in years.
"We haven't been on a date, the two of us, for a year-and-a-half or two," she shared. "Because we're never alone anymore."
The spouses, instead, spend most of their free time with their daughter.

"I think that kind of happens, right?" she asked her father, who agreed that the focus often shifts to the kids.
"Because my mom died at a young age, I don't really have a lot of memories of her and my dad together as a married couple," Angie said in a confessional. "For me, becoming a wife, I didn't really have that example to know how to navigate through different situations in marriage. Like, I had to learn everything just as I went."
As a result, she had been spending most of her time thinking about her daughter.
"We put Elektra first, both of us, you know, then all of a sudden, you find that two years has gone by and we haven't even gone out to dinner or done anything just the two of us," Angie added, before asking her dad for some words of wisdom.
"Be firm," he advised. "Show Shawn who the boss is."

Angie and her husband, Shawn, are life partners and business partners. The spouses, who wed in 1999, are the founders of Lunatic Fringe Salons.
Shawn and Angie own 10 different locations around Utah, Ohio, and Idaho. In addition, Shawn also owns a cosmetology school, the Paul Mitchell The School in Salt Lake City.
