Whoopi Goldberg terrorized by horrific talking toys: 'Biggest mistake of my life'

The Oscar-winning actress went to war in a new video, facing off against animated cacti that repeated every word she said.

World War Whoopi has entered a new phase. First, it was sonic phantoms on The View, then it was a disruptive Taraji P. Henson, and even the developers of the Diablo video game franchise. Now, the Whoopi Goldberg Situation Room is monitoring a pair of animated, terroristic cactus toys intended to entertain babies.

"I may have just made — excuse me — the biggest mistake of my life," the 68-year-old, EGOT-winning actress said in a new Instagram video, pausing briefly to allow one of two green, moving, talking cacti (it's unclear if they're Meghan McCain's pets) to interrupt her while they rested on her kitchen counter.

Goldberg kept a watchful eye on the jovial troublemakers while she continued to speak to her followers, though it became apparent that the toys would record (and repeat) everything she said from there on out.

"You see, anything you say… they just do this," she said, confused. "Say hello. Say goodnight. Is that it? No, is that it?"

The dancing toys repeated every phrase she uttered back to Goldberg, who turned to the camera with an amused look on her face before the video cut.

Goldberg continued her saga with the tiny figures on Wednesday, when she staged a mini audition for Sister Act 3 and attempted to teach the cacti how to sing like her character, Sister Mary Clarence.

"They all want to be in Sister Act," Goldberg wrote in the caption for the video, in which she assessed the toys' choral skills from her dining room table.

EW has reached out to a representative for Goldberg for comment.

The Ghost and Color Purple star's bout with the devices comes six months after she sounded the alarm over the impending AI apocalypse during a Hot Topics segment on The View.

"I've been warning people about AI for at least 10 years," she said in May, before turning her focus to Alexa, Amazon's sweet-voiced digital home assistant. "You know she is listening. I don't want her in the house. I don't want anything that is smart enough to lock me out of my house, I don't want anything that won't let me drive my car. When you watch science fiction, it's right there. They tell you: This is the future."
