Who Will Return to ‘American Horror Story’?

At a Paleyfest panel, creator Ryan Murphy said of his American Horror Story: Hotel cast, “I will tell you that every darling person up here that wants to come back can come back.”

So which American Horror Story veterans did he invite back?

Sarah Paulson, who played psychic Billie Dean Howard in the first season’s Murder House, lesbian journalist Lana Winters in Asylum, witch Cordelia Foxx in Coven, conjoined twins Bette and Dot Tattler in Freak Show, and ghost junkie Sally McKenna in Hotel.

Kathy Bates, who played socialite serial killer Delphine LaLaurie in Coven, the bearded lady Ethel Darling in Freak Show, and the front desk clerk and manager Iris in Hotel.

Angela Bassett, who played Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau Marie Laveau in Coven, hermaphrodite Desiree Dupree in Freak Show, and vengeful lover Romona Royale in Hotel.

Denis O’Hare, who played burn victim and Murder House’s previous owner Larry Harvey, longtime butler of the school Spaulding in Coven, con-artist Stanley in Freak Show, and transgender bartender Liz Taylor in Hotel.

Plus, Finn Wittrock, Cheyenne Jackson, Matt Bomer, and Wes Bentley, who all appeared in Hotel, were all invited to return. And of course, Lady Gaga has already confirmed that she will be back.

The setting of the new series has not been announced, but showrunner Murphy is working on two ideas. Murphy said, “I think the show has always felt to me like an opera.”

So does that mean Murphy slipped up and give away the setting? Where do you think next season’s American Horror Story should take place? Let us know in the comments below.
