Whitney Sudler-Smith's cottage renovation is almost complete, and, of course, the Southern Charm friend celebrated the new-and-improved space with a lavish bash.

After Whitney revealed on Season 9, Episode 14 of Southern Charm that he was transforming Michael Kelcourse's former cottage on Patricia Altschul's property into "an understated bar/pub/hangout spot," he shared the nearly-finished results with his friends on Episode 15.

While planning the "soirée" at his "new cottage/pub/office," Whitney explained to Olivia Flowers, "It's not a bachelor pad. It's kind of like a little place where you can hang and not have to go out."

That may have been an understatement. The bottom floor of the new-and-improved cottage has been transformed into a luxe bar, complete with a black marble bar top, eye-catching gold barstools, and a fireplace.

When Whitney's guests arrived, they were blown away. "This is so nice," Paige DeSorbo said as Craig Conover added, "I haven't seen it since it was studded out in here."

In an interview during the episode, which aired on January 4, Craig quipped, "If Whitney was trying to build a place to bring single Charlestonian girls back to, he achieved his goal."

Taylor Ann Green told Whitney he did a "great job with the place," and after thanking her, he explained, "It's still not finished."

In 2021, Patricia revealed in an Instagram post that the cottage was originally built "in the late 1700s" and was later remodeled to include "a bedroom and [bathroom]… living room, dining area with a fireplace, and a chef’s kitchen."

Earlier in the episode, before Whitney showed off his newly transformed cottage, he along with the rest of the Southern Charm-ers, gathered at Patrcia’s historic Charleston home for a Beyond the Valley of the Dolls-themed party. All attendees came dressed to the tens as they all wore on-theme attire inspired by the 1970s film.

Whitney's party was split between the cottage and the piazza of Patricia's home. In the video above, the Southern Charm matriarch shared, "It's arguably the best room in the house."

Patricia Altschul's update on Michael Kelcourse

Previously, Patricia's beloved former butler Michael lived in the cottage before he retired from his duties in 2021 after he suffered a spinal cord stroke. These days, Michael lives in Florida, where he and Patricia recently had a long-awaited reunion.
