A new group of tourists will check into hotels in Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok, Thailand, for a fresh round of tragicomic befuddlement when the third season of The White Lotus begins filming next month.

The only returning cast member announced so far for season three is Natasha Rothwell, who played the hopeful spa manager in season one. New cast members for the third season include Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, and Tayme Thapthimthong.

“I’ve read all the scripts, and I can’t say anything but I will say it’s going to blow people’s minds,” Rothwell said at the Wonka premiere last month. “I gasped out loud no less than five times and that was just reading them, so people are in for a treat.”

Neither the producers nor HBO announced a projected premiere date for the season but with filming beginning in February, it’s safe to assume it won’t be anytime soon.

The first season of the series, which is created, written, and directed by School of Rock screenwriter and onetime Survivor contestant Mike White, premiered in July 2021. It was set in Hawaii and won 10 Emmys. The second season, set in Sicily, premiered in December 2022 and is now up for 23 Emmy nominations on the broadcast set for Jan. 15.

“It’s going to be a supersized White Lotus,” White said in November. “It’s going to be longer, bigger, crazier. I don’t know what people will think, but I am super excited, so at least for my own barometer, that’s a good thing… I’m super excited about the content of the season.”
