Following Harrison Butker's controversial speech, the White House is providing an update on whether the NFL player is still invited to visit.

Not only did Butker mention gender roles and COVID-19, but he also seemingly bashed President Joe Biden, which left many wondering if he would still be invited to the White House.

“Our own nation is led by a man who publicly and proudly proclaims his Catholic faith but at the same time is delusional enough to make the sign of the cross during a pro-abortion rally," Butker said during his commencement speech. "He has been so vocal in his support for the murder of innocent babies that I’m sure to many people it appears that you can be both Catholic and pro-choice.”

Butker also told the 2024 graduating class that “abortion, IVF, surrogacy, euthanasia as well as a growing support for degenerate cultural values and media” come from “the pervasiveness of disorder.”

Later on in the speech, Butker spoke "directly to [the ladies] briefly because I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you."

"How many of you are sitting here now about to cross this stage and are thinking about all the promotions and titles you are going to get in your career? Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world," he continued.

The NFL player spoke about his wife, Isabelle, who would apparently “be the first to say her life truly started when she began living her vocation as a wife and as a mother.”

Despite his controversial remarks last week, Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker will still be included in the team's upcoming championship celebration visit to the White House.

During Friday’s press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked if the Chiefs will still be invited to the White House after Butker's controversial speech, to which she confirmed the invitation extends to "the entire team."

When asked about Butker specifically, Jean-Pierre said, “What I can say is we invite the entire team and we do that always. I don’t have anything beyond that."

CNN’s MJ Lee did not give up. She then asked about Butker's comments specifically. “Given his recent comments, is he specifically welcomed at this point in time?” she asked.

Jean-Pierre responded, “It’s an invitation that goes to the team, and so it’s up to the team who comes and doesn’t come. It’s the way it usually works.”

The Kansas City Chiefs have yet to comment on Butker’s speech, but the NFL’s senior vice president and chief diversity and inclusion officer spoke to PEOPLE Magazine, saying that Butker's “views are not those of the NFL as an organization. The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger."

The NFL was referring to the portion of Butker's speech when he encouraged the graduates to have Catholic pride and “not the deadly sin sort of pride that has an entire month dedicated to it.”

The organization has supported the LGBTQ+ community through various initiatives and partnerships, including hosting or sponsoring events such as the Gay Bowl, a national LGBTQ+ flag football tournament. The NFL also implemented training programs for staff to build awareness around LGBTQ+ issues and foster an inclusive environment.

The football organization also partnered with The Trevor Project, the world's largest suicide prevention and mental health organization for LGBTQ+ youth.

After Butker appeared to encourage women to embrace domestic responsibilities and urged men to assert their masculinity, social media users slammed the NFL kicker.

"Harrison Butker doesn’t represent Kansas City nor has he ever. Kansas City has always been a place that welcomes, affirms, and embraces our LGBTQ+ community members," former Kansas City commissioner Justice Horn wrote.

Another user expressed, "Harrison Butker, a dude I had never heard of until today, did a bang-up job of becoming one of the most hated men in North America in the space of one 20-minute speech full of bigotry and misogyny. F-ck this guy. This is insane."
