Whiskey Kitchen spikes the traditional with chic twists in Mount Dora
Whiskey Kitchen Mount Dora, an inventive new drinking and dining spot in southeast Lake County, is getting a buzz you could say is 100 proof.
But firewater isn't the only highlight of this contemporary, indoor-outdoor bar-restaurant.
It's where burgers and salads come with unconventional twists and surprises, such as a shrimp burger with whiskey bang-bang sauce, lettuce, tomato and onion or a veggie burger with herbed aioli. Both are served on a brioche bun. The restaurant's website claims that its ingredients are fresh and never frozen.
Along with lunch and dinner, breakfast is served too Monday through Friday 7-11 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m.-2 p.m., when you can choose from an array of eggs Benedicts, omelettes and breakfast pizzas.
Servers can recommend a wide selection of wines, craft beer and whiskey choices to complement your meal.
Located in the space formerly occupied by the Lakehouse, at 315 N. Highland St., Whiskey Kitchen offers a stylish and contemporary spin on a rustic country kitchen and shanty bar.
"We've just snagged a sneak peek into Mount Dora's hottest upcoming restaurant!" Realtor Brandy Lake shared on Facebook.
"Brace yourself for a culinary adventure featuring fresh, innovative dishes and specialty crafted drinks straight from the bar. Complete with entertainment and ample outdoor seating, this place is destined to be a hit."
The below musical acts are playing the restaurant Friday and Saturday nights from 6 to 9 p.m.: Braxton Bennett, Feb. 23; John Phillips Carter, Feb. 24; Kelly Jarrad McGowan, March 1; Pete and the Invisible Band, March 2.
