Sebastian Stan dropped by “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” Tuesday, where he discussed getting into character as Tommy Lee for Hulu’s new limited series “Pam and Tommy.” Turns out Stan got help from famed acting teacher Larry Moss, who coached Helen Hunt to her Oscar winning performance in “As Good as it Gets.”

“He told Helent Hunt, ‘Put nickels in your shoes when you act so you know what it's like to stand on your feet for 12 hours,’” Stan explained. “I said, ‘Larry, I need something myself.’”

While Lee was already famous for being the drummer of Mötley Crüe, his relationship with Pamela Anderson and their subsequent sex tape helped make him a household name. Since Lee was a overtly sexual person at the time, Stan’s acting coach suggested he add a little more weight to his character. So he wore a small sack containing two steel balls in his pants.

“Tommy was a big man,” Stan said, “I know it sounds insane to you, but trust me, I was like, I need to kind of feel like a man.”

KYLIE MAR: Sebastian Stan dropped by "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Tuesday, where he discussed getting into character as Tommy Lee for Hulu's new limited series "Pam and Tommy." Turns out Stan got help from famed acting teacher Larry Moss who coached Helen Hunt for her Oscar-winning performance in "As Good As It Gets."

SEBASTIAN STAN: He told Helen Hunt, you need to put nickels in your shoes so you actually know-- when you're acting, so you actually know what it's like to stand up on your feet for 12 hours. And I said, Larry, I need something myself.

KYLIE MAR: While Lee was already famous for being the drummer of Motley Crue, his relationship with Pamela Anderson and their subsequent sex tape helped make him a household name.

JIMMY KIMMEL: I want to ask you about one other aspect of finding this character, Sebastian. In fact, I believe we have a videotape. Now, what's going on there?

- What is that?

KYLIE MAR: Since Lee was an overtly sexual person at the time, Stan's acting coach suggested he add a little more weight to his character below the belt.

SEBASTIAN STAN: So for the duration of the shoot I actually--

- I can't believe I didn't know this.

SEBASTIAN STAN: You know, Tommy was a big man.

JIMMY KIMMEL: Blessed.

SEBASTIAN STAN: And so anyway I wore these [? bare ?] steel balls. I didn't want to-- I didn't want to tell you because I--

- I'm so glad I didn't know.
