While this firehouse for sale charmed TikTok, the inside is really eerie. Check it out
A historic firehouse on the real estate market in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has gained the attention of a popular TikTok page that focuses on cool houses for sale. While viewers are impressed, some may be contemplating calling in ghost hunters.
And for $598,000, the chance to own such a cool piece of history seems doable – that is if you have the extra funds that will be needed to fix the beautiful building up.
According to the listing, The Parkside Firehouse was designed by Philadelphia architect John Torrey Windrim, a man who “had a hand” in many of the buildings scattered around the City of Brotherly Love, and was completed in 1895.
The building, with a 6,885-square-foot interior, is being sold “as-is” and needs quite a bit of love. While the photos paint quite a vivid picture of the work that needs to be done, the photos of the basement itself seem rather…well, haunting.
The building has undergone some upgrades, however.
“Recent improvements include new historically approved windows on the facade, a new historically approved cornice, installed basic electric service, installed basic water service, a new main roof, and initiated preliminary carpentry on the upper level,” the listing says.
The firehouse made an appearance on the popular real estate TikTok page “Houses that are Cool” and people immediately fell in love.

“(It’s) incredibly beautiful in Philadelphia – it’s also very cool inside,” the TikTok creator said while showing the photos in a video that’s been liked over 3,600 times.
And others agreed.
“Would make a cool brewery,” one person said.
“The first one is beautiful and it kinda looks like the one from the 80s ‘Ghostbusters’ movie,” another commented.
“Who you gonna call…” someone joked.
“Okay maybe I’ll move back to Philly to make an awesome house,” one person said.
