The Frasier revival finds its titular character (Kelsey Grammer) in a new, but entirely familiar, city, surrounded by a fresh batch of characters to lovingly insult. But where are the beloved characters of yore?
Frasier on Paramount+ largely avoids any reference to Niles, Daphne, et. al., most likely in hopes of establishing this show on its own merit. Still, this wouldn't be a revival without some old faces showing up to resounding applause that cuts into their line delivery.

So far, we know at least two characters from the OG Frasier will pop up on the new one — Roz (Peri Gilpin) and Lilith (Bebe Neuwirth) — but some we'll never see or hear from again. Read on to find out where the Cranes and the KACL crew have been all these years.
Martin

The OG character mentioned most is Frasier's dad — played by the late, great (and British!) John Mahoney, who died in 2018. Martin, too, has passed, and the prodigal Dr. Crane returns to Boston after attending his dad's funeral in Seattle, hoping to reconnect with his own son, Freddy (the also British Jack Cutmore-Scott). As a tribute to Mahoney, Frasier's new bar of choice is named after the actor.

After years and years of one of the best will-they-won't-they's in sitcom history, Niles (four-time Emmy winner David Hyde Pierce) and Daphne (Jane Leeves) got married in the 10th season of Frasier. They had a son, David, in the series finale. In the reboot, David is portrayed by Anders Keith, but David rarely brings up his parents. In a classic Frasier mix-up, one episode finds David mistaken for an orphan by some well-meaning firefighters because he laments his parents not being around. But Niles Crane will remain a distant memory, as Pierce turned down Grammer's offer to appear in the reboot, explaining he didn't want to do a repeat of his performance. Why mess with perfection — and four Emmys?
Roz

Where in the world is Roz Doyle (Peri Gilpin)? Last we heard, Roz had been promoted to station manager back in Seattle at KACL. But that was 19 years ago, that job can't possibly still exist. We'll find out what Roz has been up to when Gilpin guest-stars this season on the Frasier revival.

KACL's walking #MeToo lawsuit Bob "Bulldog" Briscoe (Dan Butler) gets a brief shout-out in the first episode of Paramount's Frasier. According to Frasier, he sang "Ave Maria" at Martin's funeral. What a sight, and a sound, that must have been to behold.
Charlotte

In the series finale, Frasier is offered his own TV show in San Francisco, but it's implied he follows his heart to Chicago to be with his love Charlotte Connor (Laura Linney). However, some things must have switched in the intervening two decades because we pick up with Frasier leaving both his show and Charlotte back in Chicago, after he had grown tired of hosting one and one had seemingly grown tired of hosting him.
Lilith

And evil takes a human form in Dr. Lilith Sternin, the proto-Daria, portrayed flawlessly for nearly 40 years by Bebe Neuwirth. Things are still bitter between Frasier and Lilith — and we wouldn't have it any other way. Like most of the traditional Frasier characters, Lilith is barely mentioned, but when she is, it's so her ex can take a good old-fashioned swipe at her, like when Frasier equates her with the Arctic Circle in a spirited game of trivia. Lilith and Frasier will rekindle their icy chemistry when Neuwirth guest-stars on the revival's first season.
