It’s always summer on Love Island.

The series, formerly known as Celebrity Love Island, started in the U.K. for two seasons in 2005 and 2006. The original concept of the show brought a dozen single celebrities together in Fiji, with the final couple eligible to win a cash prize. In 2015, Love Island was revived for the network ITV2, this time casting members of the public rather than celebrities to join the show as contestants, widely referred to as islanders.

During the season, couples are thrown curveballs left and right, including bombshells — new men and women who enter the villa single in hopes of breaking up a preexisting couple — as well as challenges that test their compatibility, insights from the public and eliminations that leave the islanders vulnerable in more ways than one.

Love Island, which has run for 10 seasons in the U.K., was brought to Australia in 2018 and has run for four seasons, with the fifth season currently airing. In 2019, the show was brought to the United States, spawning five seasons of content for viewers. In 2023, a spinoff, Love Island Games, debuted on Peacock, bringing fan favorites from all three of the international series.

Here’s how to watch every series in the Love Island franchise.

The U.K. version of Love Island started the obsession for all, including celebrity superfans like Margot Robbie.

With six episodes a week for eight weeks, fans are given a real-time look into the budding relationships, or dramatic fallouts, that happen within the villa.

Though there are new rules each season to keep the competition fresh for the islanders, the show starts with five pairs who are coupled up. Throughout the eight weeks, they are faced with challenges, both literally and figuratively, as bombshells enter the villa and games are played to see who is meant to go the distance. At the end of the day, the couple voted in first place by the public wins the prize.

Over the years, Love Island has spawned several success stories, none more popular than the relationship between Molly Mae Hague and Tommy Fury from season 5 of the show. The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Bambi, in January 2023, and got engaged later that July.

Love Island airs on ITV2 in the U.K. and can be streamed locally on ITV’s website. In the United States, the series is available for streaming on Hulu, though there is a delay in the episodes becoming available to watch.

Australia caught on to the popularity of the U.K. version of the show and started their own in 2018.

The format follows the U.K. version closely, with the single islanders isolated with no access to their phones or the outside world as they try to get to know one another and form connections.

Their love stories aren’t up to just them though – the public has an opportunity to vote for their favorite (and sometimes least favorite) islanders and couples, which can cause drama more often than not. Much like its U.K. counterpart, the couple voted in first place is awarded a cash prize as well.

Love Island can be streamed on the live stream and video-on-demand service 9Now in Australia. The Australian version of the series is also available to stream on Hulu, though there is a delay in the episodes becoming available to watch.

In 2019, Love Island made its way to the United States, though it’s not to be confused with the existing vacation-esque reality dating competition, Bachelor in Paradise.

Love Island originally aired for three seasons on CBS, until Peacock picked up the series for its fourth and fifth seasons.

Though the show follows the same format as its counterparts, the United States and Australian versions have one thing in common — they are abridged seasons with only 22 to 38 episodes per season, rather than the typical 49 seen on the U.K. version.

The first three seasons of Love Island can be streamed on Netflix. The fourth and fifth seasons are available to stream on Peacock.

In 2023, the spin-off Love Island Games debuted on the streaming service Peacock.

The show took fan-favorite contestants from across the franchise, including former islanders from Australia, France, Germany, Sweden, the United States, and the U.K.

The contestants are given a second (or third) chance at love, this time in a different format. Love Island Games brings the islanders together in both individual couple challenges and group challenges. For fans of the original series, it still has the twists and turns they know and love, including bombshell arrivals, re-couplings, and eliminations.

New episodes of Love Island Games air Sunday through Friday at 9:00 p.m. EST on Peacock, and are also available to watch on the streaming service after they air.
