Distributed by A24, The Iron Claw is expected to stream on Max when its current theatrical run is over. In Dec. 2023, Warner Bros. Discovery signed a deal with A24 to bring the distributor’s theatrical releases — including Priscilla, Dream Scenario, Dicks: The Musical and others — to their streaming service in 2024. You’ll likely be able to stream The Iron Claw on Max sometime in April or May.

Written and directed by Sean Durkin, The Iron Claw follows a trio of professional wrestlers known as the Von Erich brothers — Kevin (Efron), Kerry (White) and David (Dickinson) — and their controlling father and coach, Fritz (Holt McCallany) as they strive for greatness on wrestling’s biggest stage during the early ’80s.

The film also stars Maura Tierney, Lily James, Michael J. Harney, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Brady Pierce, Aaron Dean Eisenberg and others.

The Iron Claw received mostly positive reviews upon its release in Dec. 2023. Hollywood Reporter’chief film critic David Rooney wrote in his review, “As Kevin recalls in voiceover, Fritz instilled a belief in his sons that if they were the toughest, the fastest, the strongest, nothing could ever hurt them. The dismantling of that belief in the face of all-too-human physical and psychological vulnerability is ultimately what makes the uneven but heartfelt film affecting.”
