The Bear, Beef and Succession swept the 2023 Emmys. Anthony Anderson hosted the 75th annual Emmys on Martin Luther King Jr. Day after the ceremony was postponed from its original September 2023 date due to the writers and actors strikes.
The star-studded show was its most diverse ever: five of the 12 acting awards went to performers of color. Beef star Ali Wong became the first Asian woman to win an Emmy for a lead role, and the ceremony made history with lead and supporting comedy actress awards for Abbott Elementary‘s Quinta Brunson and The Bear‘s Ayo Edebiri, respectively — the first time that the trophies went to Black women in the same year. Those who missed the historic ceremony can stream the 2023 Emmy Awards on-demand on Hulu.
