Who’s Rhenna? Is what you may be asking yourself after reading the headline. Well, its that infamous stick figure you see when searching for Rihanna’s official Instagram account.

After nearly a decade, Badgal Riri has changed her profile picture to show the “alter-ego” figure holding her newest edition to the Fenty Beauty line: the Soft’Lit luminous foundation.

“Rest in peace to the old pro pic,” one person commented upon discovering the change, as another said, “Bring back the old pfp [profile picture]!”

Here’s The Story Behind Rhenna

Rhenna was birthed from Twitter between 2014-2015 when fans began plastering the image all over photos of Rihanna.

After taking a hiatus from social media, the now-billionaire-boss returned to Instagram to find her fans doing the unprovoked act (which some deemed disrespectful at the time). So what did Riri do? She joined in on the fun and began uploading her own photos with the “disappointed” face overlayed.

From there, Rhenna became a star in her own right.

Rihanna has used the character for a plethora of her big releases, including her 2015 ANTIdiary series, which promoted her ANTI album. The figure was also turned into Ri’s official Instagram profile pic and has remained there ever since.

Additionally, the “Lift Me Up” singer used Rhenna for a necklace created by NYC-based jeweler, Mr. Flawless, who designed the custom piece with “18-karat white gold, white enamel, and black diamonds.”

Upon hand-delivering the jewelry to Rihanna, he told MTV News in 2015, “I always wanted to have one of my pieces on Rihanna and when I saw this logo on her Instagram, it just hit me. It was the perfect thing to create a piece out of.”

Rihanna also homaged Rhenna by drawing a portrait of the star on a plate earlier this year while visiting the restaurant, Siena, in Paris.

“Legendary plate signed by the queen,” the establishment wrote of the global superstar.

Upon seeing Rihanna’s new profile pic, some fans began holding fictional memorial services for Rhenna.

“RIP to Rihanna’s avi, gone but never forgotten,” one person captioned an obituary program showing the stick figure. They included the description: “I was deeply saddened to hear of your loss. Please know that you have my heartfelt condolences. In this time of grief, may you find strength and solace in the embrace of family and friends who care deeply for you.”

Straight jokes!

However, fans not need to fret. Rhenna clearly isn’t gone, but has simply evolved!
