Where do NJ cities rank among the most fun spots in the country?

What is your definition of fun?

Some like to go out to bars or clubs, others may like to do outdoor activities like hiking or playing sports and some people may just want to stay inside to relax, watch a movie or play video games. WaletlHub created a list that combined many metrics to rank the most fun cities in the country. The two New Jersey cities listed rank near the bottom of the list.

WalletHub compared 180 cities using 65 different metrics split up into three categories of entertainment and recreation, nightlife and parties and costs.

Jersey City and Newark were ranked right next to each other at 131 and 132.

North Jersey residents should not feel too bad, though, as many live so close to the 10-ranked most fun city in the country, New York City. Those in South Jersey should not also take solace as the nearby city Philadelphia ranks 21 on the list.

Jersey City ranked 104 in parks and recreation, 108 in nightlife and parties, and 136 in cost. Newark ranked 107 in parks and recreation, 120 in nightlife and parties, and 131 in cost.

Some of the metrics they used were restaurants per capita, park playgrounds per capita, accessible bars and average food price.

According to the list, the most fun cities were Las Vegas, Orlando and Miami.

WalletHub is a financial website that has also become well-known for its lists and rankings on various topics.

It is important to keep in mind that this rankings is based off cities and not ranking New Jersey as a whole. Jerseyans know there are plenty of activities to do in the Garden State. NJ is home to a plethora of beaches, recreational facilities at nearly every corner, a great amount of local bars and restaurants and plenty of shopping destinations. Plus, can you name a state with better bagels?

We should not hang our head low when looking at this list. All of New Jersey offers some fun activities for people of all ages.
