Where is Michael Strahan? His ‘GMA’ and ‘Fox NFL Sunday’ absences explained

“Good Morning America” host Michael Strahan has been absent since last month, and that absence will continue at least for another week, an ABC spokesperson confirmed.

“Michael Strahan will not be with us this week as he is dealing with some personal family matters,” the rep said in a statement Tuesday. “We appreciate everyone’s thoughts and concerns.”

“World News Tonight” anchor Linsey Davis and “Nightline” co-anchor Juju Chang have filled in while he’s away.

Strahan, 51, has not served in his analyst post on Fox NFL Sunday for the last two weeks either. According to the Los Angeles Times, Fox Sports commentator Curt Menefee mentioned on Sunday that Strahan was not part of the show because he is “dealing with a personal family matter.”

The former NFL star also hosts “The $100,000 Pyramid,” which is in its seventh season. The prerecorded game show has featured celebrity guests Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Rosie O’Donnell, Rodney Peete and Holly Robinson Peete.

Strahan joined the “GMA” lineup full-time in 2016, working alongside Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Lara Spencer and Ginger Zee.

Before joining the ABC News flagship series, the Houston native co-hosted “Live With Kelly and Michael” with Kelly Ripa for four years.

Strahan, who is twice divorced and currently unmarried, is the father of four kids from previous relationships: Tanita, 31, Michael Jr., 28, and 19-year-old twins Isabella and Sophia.
