Where, when fans can greet Ole Miss baseball on its return from College World Series

OMAHA, Neb. — After successful trips to Coral Gables, Florida, Hattiesburg and the College World Series in Omaha, the Ole Miss baseball team is making its most joyous trip yet: the trip home.

One day after winning the program's first national championship, the Rebels will return to Oxford on Monday. Coach Mike Bianco, captain Tim Elko and the rest of the squad will be landing in Oxford in the afternoon and be making a public appearance at the Walk of Champions on Ole Miss' campus between The Grove and Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Monday at 2 p.m.

The Rebels' championship parade will come on Wednesday, but Monday will be the first opportunity for Oxford-based fans to greet and cheer on their champion Rebels.

Ole Miss defeated Oklahoma 4-2 on Sunday to complete a sweep of the College World Series finals. A month after being selected as the final at-large team in the NCAA Tournament field, the Rebels completed an unlikely 10-1 stretch in the postseason including sweeps of the Coral Gables Regional and Hattiesburg Super Regional before turning in a 5-1 performance where they limited opponents to 2.3 runs per game in the College World Series.

Junior right-hander Dylan DeLucia was named the College World Series' Most Outstanding Player. DeLucia was one of six Rebels named to the 2022 College World Series All-Tournament Team, joined by Elko at first base, Justin Bench at third base, Calvin Harris and Kevin Graham in the outfield and Kemp Alderman at designated hitter.

No formal plans for the parade route or start time have been announced. The Clarion Ledger will provide updates when those become available.
