Magneto Met Superman (and Supergirl) at Comic-Con, and It Was Appropriately Epic

Comic books are known for their superhero team-ups and crossover events. At Comic-Con on Saturday, that notion went next-level as we witnessed universes colliding.

Michael Fassbender, aka X-Men nemesis Magneto, was hanging out at Yahoo’s suite waiting to be interviewed alongside James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence for X-Men: Apocalypse.

A throng of people came down the hall and out of the crowd jumped Henry Cavill. The Batman v Superman star gave Fassbender a warm embrace and the two actors chatted for a few minutes before Cavill had to run off.

Moments later, another group of people approached; Melissa Benoist emerged and introduced herself as a “big fan” of Fassbender. Someone nearby informed him that she was the star of CBS’s new Supergirl.

They spoke for several minutes — presumably comparing superpowers or costumes or some such — eventually joined by Fassbender’s mutant buddy James McAvory and Mehcad Brooks, who plays Jimmy Olsen on Supergirl.

So within the span of 10 minutes, Magneto met both Superman and Supergirl. True story.
