The biggies

The New Look (Apple TV+, Wednesday, 12:01 a.m.)

In Todd A. Kessler’s period drama The New Look, Ben Mendelsohn takes on the fashion designer Christian Dior. Set in post-World War II Paris, the series charts Dior’s rise to fame and his rivalry with Coco Chanel (Juliette Binoche) during tumultuous political times. The cast includes Maisie Williams, John Malkovich, Claes Bang, Emily Mortimer, Glenn Close, and Hugo Becker. Look out for The A.V. Club’s review on Tuesday.

The Vince Staples Show (Netflix, Thursday, 3:01 a.m.)

The Vince Staples Show, a five-part satirical series produced by Blackish’s Kenya Barris, features the titular rapper playing a heightened version of himself as he navigates a (sort of) famous life. Vanessa Bell Calloway, Andrea Ellsworth, Arturo Castro, Scott MacArthur, Bryan Greenberg, and Myles Bullock round out the cast.

Ghosts (CBS, Thursday, 8:30 p.m.)

CBS sitcom Ghosts is back for 10 new episodes after an extended break in production. Based on the British series of the same name, the show centers on Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar), who move into a mansion they inherited only to find out it’s occupied by various dead people. Expect season three to answer the cliffhanger question of which ghost got “sucked off” into heaven at the end of season two.

Hidden gems

Taylor Tomlinson: Have It All (Netflix, Tuesday, 3:01 a.m.)

Taylor Tomlinson is having a pretty exciting 2024 so far. After taking over James Corden’s late-night spot on CBS, the comedian has a new Netflix special. In Have It All, directed by Kristian Mercado, she unpacks what it’s like to have your dream job, find a partner, and deal with insomnia and anxiety.

The Truth About Jim (Max, Thursday, 3:01 a.m.)

Skye Borgman directs the four-part docuseries The Truth About Jim, in which investigator Sierra Barter, her mother, and grandmother dig into family member Jim Mordecai to figure out whether he’s a notorious serial killer.

More good stuff

Tracker (CBS, Sunday, 10 p.m.)

Justin Hartley follows up This Is Us with this new action-drama. In Tracker, he plays a survivalist named Colter Shaw, who travels around the country to help law enforcement solve various crimes while trying to repair his fractured family. Mary McDonnell and Robin Weigert co-star in the series, which premieres right after the Super Bowl.

Players (Netflix, Wednesday, 3:01 a.m.)

Players drops on Netflix just in time for Valentine’s Day. The rom-com follows Mack (Gina Rodriguez), who cooks up a scheme to woo Nick (Tom Ellis) with the help of her friends. Little does she know, of course, that her true love might just be her BFF, Adam (Damon Wayans Jr.). The ensemble also features Liza Koshy, Joel Courtney, Ego Nwodim, and Marin Hinkle.
