What's new on Netflix in October 2023: “The Fall of the House of Usher”, “Lupin” season 3, “Dune”, and more
Netflix is rolling out a new slate of movies and TV shows in October.
To mark the spookiest month of them all, the streamer will debut the latest entry in the horror-centric Flanaverse with Mike Flanagan's The Fall of the House of Usher. The miniseries hailing from the Haunting of Hill House creator follows ruthless siblings Roderick (Bruce Greenwood ) and Madeline Usher (Mary McDonnell) who have built their company, Fortunato Pharmaceuticals, into an empire of wealth, privilege, and power — all of which is on the verge of crumbling when the heirs to the Usher dynasty start dying at the hands of a mysterious woman from their youth. The saga is inspired by the collective works of Edgar Allen Poe.
Also in the realm of Netflix originals comes the third season of Lupin, which stars Omar Sy as Assane Diop, who has fashioned himself as the 21st century Arsène Lupin, the gentleman thief depicted in Maurice Leblanc's mystery novels. The action resumes with Assane living in hiding, away from his wife and child. Just as he develops a plan to reunite and run away with his family, the ghosts of his past return with a vengeance.
Netflix also has two star-studded dramas on the docket: Pain Hustlers, which sees Emily Blunt and Chris Evans at the center of a pharmaceutical company's criminal conspiracy, and Fair Play, which pits Phoebe Dynevor and Alden Ehrenreich against each other at a cutthroat financial firm.
And for those still plagued by the news that Dune: Part Two won't hit the big screen until 2024, you can soon relive the high of Denis Villeneuve's epic first entry into the sci-fi saga when Dune arrives to the streamer next month.
