1. Puerto Rican Day Parade and Multi-Cultural Festival in Palm Bay
The 26th Annual Puerto Rican Day Parade and Multi-Cultural Festival will be held on Saturday, Sept. 30. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. with the festival to follow at Palm Bay City Hall, 120 Malabar Rd, Palm Bay. The festival will feature live performers, display and vendor booths, food trucks and much more. The parade theme is “Building Healthy and Prosperous Communities.” Admission is free. 2. Brevard Library Con in Viera
Brevard Library Con returns for the darkly magical month of October at the Viera Regional Community Center, 2300 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, Melbourne, on Sunday, Oct. 1 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will include favorite fandoms, manga, books, anime, comics, games, STEM, cosplay, performances, food trucks and vendors. 3. Roberto Restuccia at The Tangiers
Jazz guitarist Roberto Restuccia will give a concert with special guest saxophonist Tom Braxton at The Tangiers, 4500 Dixie Highway NE, Palm Bay, on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 8 p.m. While experimenting with different styles, Restuccia has gravitated towards the smooth jazz genre, which, he says, “grabs me from every direction, mixing funk and jazz, with openings to blues it up.” Tickets start at $45. 4. Music of James Taylor and Carole King in Cocoa Beach
The benefit concert “Troubadour Live: The Music of James Taylor and Carole King'' will be at Riverside Presbyterian Church, 3400 N. Atlantic Ave. (A1A), Cocoa Beach, on Sunday, Oct. 1 at 4 p.m. The concert will feature tribute artists Greg Pitts and Katie Pinder Brown, and proceeds will benefit Uganda’s Village of Hope. 5. Concerts in the Park at The Avenue Viera
The Avenue Viera, 2261 Town Center Ave., hosts live concerts in the Central Park area on Sundays from noon to 3 p.m. The series continues on Sunday, Oct. 1 with Tru Phonic, followed by Carl Lewis on Sax on Oct. 8. 6. Satellite Beach Lions Club breakfast
The all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast fundraiser will be at Satellite Beach City Hall, 565 Cassia Blvd., on Sunday, Oct. 1 from 8 a.m. to noon. Sausage and drinks are included. Proceeds will be split with the Satellite Beach PAL program, and returned to the community through projects and donations. Tickets are $5 at the door. 7. Auditions at Cocoa Village Playhouse
Cocoa Village Playhouse, 300 Brevard Ave., will hold auditions for ages 13 and older for the musical “Sister Act” on Sunday and Monday, Oct. 1 and 2 at 6:30 p.m. This feel-good comedy smash is based on the hit film. Prepare one minute or 16 bars of music, or sing “Happy Birthday” with piano accompaniment. Dance combinations will be taught at the audition, so dress comfortably with appropriate shoes. 8. Indoor sidewalk sale in Titusville
The North Brevard Historical Museum, 301 S. Washington Ave., Titusville, will host an indoor sidewalk sale on Saturday, Sept. 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Items for sale include stained glass windows, old yearbooks, pictures, a steamer trunk, furniture and more. 9. Free zoo admission for kids
Throughout the month of September, children 11 years of age and younger will receive free admission to Brevard Zoo, 8225 N. Wickham Road, Melbourne, when accompanied by a paying adult who is a Florida resident. No more than three children may be admitted for free per paying adult, and adults must present a state-issued photo ID or utility bill with address and matching photo ID. 10. October exhibit at Studios of Cocoa Beach
The Studios of Cocoa Beach, 165 Minutemen Causeway, presents an exhibition of works by Jan Weigold Bryant and her class artists. Bryant is an instructor at the Studios, where she teaches watercolor and acrylic painting. The exhibit runs from Oct. 3 to 29. Visit studiosofcocoabeach.org.
