2. BSO opening night concert

Brevard Symphony Orchestra kicks off its 70th anniversary season with a “Sound the Celebration” concert at the King Center, 3865 N. Wickham Road, Melbourne, on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m. The program will feature a new work by John Dupuis dedicated to the BSO.   • An Evening with Earth, Wind & Fire: The iconic band Earth, Wind & Fire will give a concert at the King Center on Sunday, Oct. 15 at 7:30 p.m. With a career spanning over 5 decades and a music catalog of over 30 albums, Earth, Wind & Fire are still making audiences groove and boogie. This concert is a fundraising event for the King Center Endowment. Tickets start at $75.

4. Space Coast Art Festival in Viera

The 2023 Space Coast Art Festival will be at The Avenue Viera on Oct. 14 and 15. The local art festival features 50 fine artists displaying their work, a popular student art show and vendors. Visit spacecoastartfestival.com.

This year’s Space Coast Art Festival will be at The Avenue Viera, 2261 Town Center Ave., on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Artists are jury-selected to exhibit in this outdoor fine art show, drawing outstanding master artists from throughout the United States and beyond. The 15 Minutes of Fame film festival, produced by Brevard filmmakers Ray and Migdala Etheridge, will screen 31 short films, including some produced by Florida filmmakers. The Indialantic Chamber Singers will perform “When the Spirit Says Sing,” a concert of spirituals, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 300 Malabar Road SE, Palm Bay, on Friday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. A second concert will be offered at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 106 N. Melbourne Hamfest, a gathering of amateur radio operators, will be at the Melbourne Auditorium, 625 E. Hibiscus Blvd., Melbourne, on Friday, Oct. 13 from 1 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event, which is open to the general public as well as licensed amateur radio operators, will also host the ARRL Florida State Convention. There will be testing sessions for people to obtain their amateur radio licenses, vendor areas, forums, presentations, prize drawings and social activities. The BPO DOES #183, a nonprofit women’s charitable organization, will host a fall craft fair at the Elks Lodge, 3450 Kilmarnoch Lane, Titusville, on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Local artisans will offer seasonal products including quilts, wreaths, home decor, dog accessories and more.
