Featured this week: Antrim Fireman's Festival

Antrim Fireman's Festival. The small village of Antrim will host its annual Fireman's Festival on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. One of the last fireman's fests of the summer means there's still fun to be had. Music from Sudden Impact, Baranich, Gable and Lee, Matt Frampton and Dusty Covers are scheduled, as well as a parade, kiddie pedal pull and tractor parade. Head to the station for some of the best-tasting and best-priced chicken of the summer and chat with the chief while you're there. Homemade ice cream will be dished out as well as numerous other food options. Two gun raffles will be taking place for a Ruger 10-22 semi-automatic rifle and a 28" Stoeger p3000 12 gauge pump shotgun. Tickets for the raffle are $10 and can be purchased at the festival. Only 100 tickets per drawing will be sold. For more information call 740-489-5151. Antrim Community Volunteer Fire Department, 20217 Cadiz Road, Freeport.
