What to Stream: Three Prank Movies for April Fools’ Day

With the end of March comes April Fools’ Day. Instead of totally busting some goofs on your pals, why not watch some movies? Here some of the most notable prank movies you can stream this weekend.

I’m Still Here: Joaquin Phoenix stole headlines a few years back when it appeared he was leaving behind his successful acting career to become a rapper. His disheveled look had people wondering if he had lost it. It turned out to be a hoax for a mockumentary he was filming with Casey Affleck. So the prank was on us. I’m Still Here is available for rent and purchase on iTunes and Amazon.

Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa: If there was ever a man to love a prank, it would be Johnny Knoxville. The actor returned for a fourth installment of the the Jackass film franchise in costume and prosthetics as the elderly Irving Zisman, who, along with his grandson Billy, causes mayhem wherever he goes. He destroys a statue outside a restaurant, ruins a children’s beauty pageant, and just generally sows chaos around him. Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa is available for rent and purchase on iTunes and Amazon.

Brüno: And of course, who can forget the king of prank movies, Sacha Baron Cohen? He became a worldwide sensation with Borat in 2006, but followed it up with a less celebrated, but nearly as funny movie in 2009. This time going about as flamboyant fashion reporter Brüno Gehard, Cohen got Paula Abdul to sit on people, ruined a fashion show, and got a studio audience up in arms about how he dressed a baby. Brüno is available for rent or purchase on iTunes and Amazon.
