Thelma & Louise is one of the most enduring films of the early ’90s. Ridley Scott’s crime adventure will always be remembered for its feminist message, the strong chemistry between stars Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis, and the fun dialogue. It’s been 25 years since the movie came to theaters. You could honor it by going on a crime spree with your favorite gal pal or driving full speed off a cliff, but why not play it safe and just watch some movies instead? Here are three other great female buddy movies to stream this weekend.

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes

We’re going back all the way to 1953 for this recommendation. Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell play friends who are working as lounge singers on a cruise headed to Paris. Monroe plays Lorelei, a proud gold digger who is engaged to the wealthy, yet nerdy, Gus. Gus’s father doesn’t approve of their relationship, so he hires a private detective to see if she’s being faithful. That detective winds up falling in love with Dorothy, Russell’s character. Filled with antics and memorable musical numbers, this movie’s a good time. Gentlemen Prefer Blondes is available to rent on Amazon.

Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion

Let’s return to the ’90s for another movie, which was adapted from a stage play. Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino star as two longtime friends who have accomplished little in their 10 years following high school. Afraid of seeming inferior to the people who bullied them when they were younger, they concoct a plan to tell people they’re the inventors of Post-it notes. You should make sure to check out one of the great comedies of the late ’90s. Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion is available to rent on iTunes.

Sisters

There’s been a serious deficit of female buddy films in recent years, but 2015 did have one worth noting. Your favorite Golden Globes hosting team, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, don’t often collaborate, but when they do, it’s always a blast. Starring as sisters, they throw a huge party at their childhood home, endangering their parents’ lingering sale of the property in the process. Although the film received mixed reviews, most critics agreed that Fey and Poehler were great. Sisters is available to rent on YouTube.
