CHICAGO — Friday is the induction of the Class of 2024 for the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

It is the TV academy’s hall of fame, The Silver Circle.

This year, it will include one of WGN and Chicago’s Very Own, Director Steve Novak.

Steve made his mark here at WGN as one of our long-time directors, calling the shots on shows watched on the station throughout the years.

He’s directed over 16,000 hours of live programming on WGN, that includes news, sports, Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon, Bozo Circus — and these days, Daytime Chicago, among many more.

Steve is behind multiple Emmy Award winning specials exploring breast cancer and alzheimer’s disease.

A big congratulations to Steve!
