This story does not contain spoilers for the Season Four finale of Westworld.
Salutations, dear reader, from whatever simulation you're living or dying in, regardless of whose brain orb is currently lodged in your own skull. Human or host, friend or foe, confused, crying, or both! All are welcome here.
You're surely on this page because Westworld dropped its Season Four finale this Sunday night, the ramifications of which we are not prepared to discuss. It's too soon. And we're weak. Instead, we're here to let you know if Westworld will grace us with a fifth season, because, like you, we can't bring ourselves to jump off this robot choo-choo train. We need to know when our cybernetic gods will end our fresh hell, as much as we love to hate it, and hate to love it. According to Ed Harris, who plays William/The Man in Black, Season Five of Westworld just might mark the end of the HBO series. "We have one more season, which will start filming next April and May," Harris told The Hollywood Reporter of the show's future. "I have no idea where that's going to end up."
Ed! You might've spilled the proverbial brain orbs. For what it's worth, series co-creator Lisa Joy told Deadline after the finale, "Jonah [Nolan, Westworld co-creator] and I have always had an ending in mind that we hope to reach. We have not quite reached it yet." She added of the Season Four finale that we're still definitely not giving you specifics about, "There are ways of conjuring characters back. There are some faces we will see again, but not all of them. Some deaths must be respected."
There you have it. If you have seen the finale—and this isn't a spoiler to say—you know that a road to the end of the series has definitely presented itself. We'll keep this story updated if HBO offers any information, either way. In the meantime? Take an Aspirin.
