‘Westworld’ Recap: Maeve Turns Herself Up to 11

In Sunday’s Westworld, Maeve continued to make headway into the deep inner workings of the Westworld lab. She intentionally had herself killed to meet Felix, the lab technician whom she’d surprised in the previous episode. The robotic madame used her persuasiveness and a hint of blackmail to force him to explain how she fit into the Westworld machine. They showed her that she has a pre-programmed personality. After taking a walk through the facility, Maeve told her technicians to increase her coded intelligence and lessen other traits that seemed to get in the way of whatever she planned to do next.

While that was happening, Elsie looked into who was using the hosts to smuggle corporate secrets out of the park. In a panic, she called Bernard to tell him that it was Theresa, Bernard’s lover.

Bernard will have to disentangle his personal relationship while Maeve will have to disentangle herself from the clutches of her Westworld creators.

Westworld airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO.
