West Virginia partners with Tutor.com for free online school and job-search assistance

Nov. 1—MORGANTOWN — West Virginia has partnered with Tutor.com to offer free online access to tutoring, test preparation and job-search assistance. Randall Reid-Smith, curator of the Department of Arts, Culture and History announced the partnership on Wednesday duirng Gov. Jim Justice's weekly briefing.

His department worked with the West Virginia Library Association, he said. "We looked at ways we could help our students to have better access to education, and to literacy of course."

Tutorwv.com is available from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. daily, he said. Tutoring is offered in 200 subjects at various grade levels. Users can log on and create a free account.

TutorWV also offers tools for lifelong learners, and help with job searches andappications, resumes and cover letters, he said. Those seeking help with resumes and cover letters will hear back within 12 hours.

There is also helps for test preparation for SATs, ACTs, LSATs (for law school), MCATs (for medical school), GED, ASVAB and AP.

"It's a great great opportunity, " he said.

A subsequent press release from Justice said TutorWV also offers drop-off review services for essays and math problems.

Libraries have long been champions of their communities. We are proud to partner with the West Virginia Library Association to provide equitable access to academic and job support for West Virginians at all stages of their educational and professional lives."
