Wendy's Is Introducing a Strawberry Frosty for the First Time Ever This Summer

We live in a world of limited-time-offer overload. Major brands like Krispy Kreme and Oreo constantly parade out limited time items to keep people excited. And Mtn Dew recently announced six new flavors on one day! Frankly, sometimes it can feel like a bit much.

So not to say that Wendy's hasn't been guilty of taking LTOs too far. This is the chain that basically made people beg to get Spicy Nuggets back. But this summer, the burger brand has announced a refreshingly simple limited time offering: their iconic Frosty now be sold in… strawberry.

Yes, the third ice cream flavor most people think of after vanilla and chocolate is finally coming to Wendy's Frosty machines. Incredibly, despite being on the menu for over 50 years, it's never before existed in strawberry form.

"We're always listening to our fans and as the most-requested item, it was a no-brainer for us to bring the Strawberry Frosty to the menu this season," said Carl Loredo, chief marketing officer for The Wendy's Company, before taking a swipe at McDonald's. "While some of our competitors are still trying to get their ice cream machines to work, fans can dip into this new strawberry treat all summer long at Wendy's."

The chain bills the new Strawberry Frosty as "a summer spin" on the frozen treat that "merges the same creamy, delectable texture Frosty fans know and love with the flavor of sweet strawberry." As an added "pro tip," Wendy's suggests dipping Hot & Crispy Fries into the Strawberry Frosty for a combo that's "sweet, salty, and berry delicious." Also, don't worry, the standard Chocolate Frosty will also remain on the menu at the same time.

Meanwhile, Frosties aren't the only part of the Wendy's menu getting a strawberry upgrade. For a limited time, the chain is also bringing back its Summer Strawberry Chicken Salad featuring "sun-ripened, freshly sliced strawberries, crisp Applewood smoked bacon and juicy grilled chicken atop a bed of crispy lettuce and spring mix, [that] is topped off with an Italian cheese blend, candied almonds and a sweet Champagne vinaigrette."

Whether the pros dip their fries in that isn't clear.
