Wendy Williams says 'people have no taste' after Chaka Khan booted from 'The Masked Singer'

Now that Chaka Khan’s mask is off, Wendy Williams’s gloves are coming off too. Williams weighed in on the reveal that Chaka Khan was inside the Miss Monster costume on The Masked Singer after Khan was booted from the show Wednesday night — and the talk show host isn’t happy. “People have no taste,” said Williams of the “I’m Every Woman” singer’s dismissal. The episode featured its regular roster of judges, Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy and Ken Jeong, plus special guest judge Leah Remini. Khan’s departure is just the latest in a string of music icons who also failed to win the top spot on The Masked Singer. Both Patti LaBelle and Gladys Knight suffered the same fate, which Williams also addressed. “I like The Masked Singer, but to me a show like this is beneath the legends like Gladys Knight, like Patti LaBelle,” she said. The top talker also revealed that some of her own staff members were “disgusted” at Khan’s participation in the show. “A couple people were disgusted that she even performed in a one-eyed, pink Cyclops outfit,” said Williams, who defended Khan. “Chaka is a grown woman. She signed up for the show and so she knew that the show is clownery, but in a good way,” she said.
