Wendy Williams on Meeting Prince: ‘He [Was] a Secret “Wendy” Watcher’
Wendy Williams may have only met Prince twice, but both times she was summoned by the man himself. The Insider With Yahoo sat down with the talk show host to get the scoop on the phone call that brought her together with the legendary artist.
Williams revealed that she received a phone call one night at 9 p.m. and was told that “Prince would like to see [her] at 11 p.m. at the club.” She continued, “We go, 11 p.m. he’s not there. Midnight he’s not there. One a.m. he’s not there. My alarm is set for 5:30 a.m. to wake up to go to my show!” Williams explained. Finally, at around 1:30 a.m., the Purple One showed up. “He descends and then he comes over and he smelled wonderful,” she shared. “He asked me to come into a private room."
So why was Prince so adamant about meeting Wendy Williams? "He’s a secret Wendy watcher,” the New Jersey native revealed.
