Lifetime’s documentary about Wendy Williams will air this Saturday and Sunday evening as planned, TVLine has confirmed, despite Williams’ guardian filing a lawsuit seeking injunctive relief.

The two-part Where Is Wendy Williams? arrives on the heels of the daytime-TV personality being diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, as well as the language disorder aphasia.

Per TMZ, Sabrina Morrissey on Thursday filed with the New York Supreme Court a sealed lawsuit seeking injunctive relief, “acting in her capacity as Temporary Guardian” for Williams. Lifetime, though, appeared in court on Friday morning, and the documentary will air this weekend as planned.

Where Is Wendy Williams?, executive-produced by the subject herself, promises an unflinching look into the former host’s private world. Filmed over the course of two years, the documentary “provides a raw, honest and unfiltered reality of Wendy’s life after she was placed under financial guardianship, shedding light on the vulnerabilities that has turned Wendy into the Hot Topic herself,” per Lifetime’s official release. “Suffering mental and physical issues, Wendy’s delicate state of mind, erratic behavior and declining health were all captured by the cameras.”

In advance of the documentary’s premiere, Lifetime released a powerful trailer, which includes one particularly chilling warning from Williams: “I have no money. And I’m going to tell you something — if it happens to me, it could happen to you.”

Executive producer Mark Ford describes the documentary as a “complex project,” which “became a labor of love for everyone involved.” He thanks Williams and her family “for their utmost commitment to honesty, even when painful.”

Williams’ health struggles first came to light in 2017, when a fainting spell in the middle of a live broadcast caused many to begin questioning her health. She went public with a Graves’ disease diagnosis in 2018, one year before announcing that she was also living in a sober house. She hosted her final episode of the now-defunct Wendy Williams Show in 2021, and financial troubles soon followed.

The two-night documentary event airs Saturday, Feb. 24 and Sunday, Feb. 25 at 8/7c on Lifetime.
