Wells Adams on the “Bachelor in Paradise” Truth Box aftermath: 'Always be honest'

Each week, Bachelor in Paradise bartender/de facto therapist Wells Adams will share his insights about the latest ridiculous happenings on the beach. This week, Wells shares his thoughts via email on Sam's goodbye, the aftermath of the Paradise Truth Box reveal, and that mischievous, shoe-stealing pooch.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Poor Sam had to leave due to her poop issues, and Jesse Palmer reported that there was still "no movement" by the night of the rose ceremony. PLEASE tell me you have an update on her GI health.

WELLS ADAMS: I know, I feel so bad for Sam! People have left Paradise for a myriad of reasons in the past, but this is a pretty crappy one! Do I know if she did or didn't poop? Yes. But I don't think I'm at liberty to say. My butt is shut... sorry, my mouth is shut. I guess you gotta keep watching.

This week we met Coco the dog. Tell us more about this shoe-stealing Paradise mascot!

The owner of the resort is a super nice guy named Diego. That's his dog. So, he runs that beach. Figuratively and literally!

ABC Coco steals Jess' sandal on 'Bachelor in Paradise'

Peter took a risk by telling Olivia that he'd prefer she didn't go on the date, and Aaron did the same with Eliza — but the women went anyway. Do you still think it was better for Peter and Aaron to be honest than to give the standard "I don't want to stop you from getting to know people" answer?

My advice to the beachgoers is always be honest. If you don't want someone to go on a date, you should say so! A lot of Bachelor Nation has tried to play it cool in the past, but that usually just ends up being perceived as "Well I guess they don't like me that much because they don't care!" In defense of the women, I still think it's early enough in the season to see what else is out there. Also, those dates are fun; it's always hard to turn them down.

Do you think Eliza would have turned down the date with John B. if she knew Aaron said she is the fig jam to his charcuterie board?

Who could forget such romantic quotes as:

  • "Doubt thou stars do are fire; Doubt thou the sun doth move; Doubt truth be a liar; but never doubt love." — Shakespeare

  • "The love you take is equal to the love you make." — The Beatles

  • "You remind me of a semisolid liquid boiled to a thick consistency." — Aaron B.

Swoon!

Just the appearance of the Paradise Truth Box lit a fire under people: Sean made a move on Jess and Brayden made a move on Rachel. Why do you think the mere presence of the Truth Box caused such excitement?

I think the Truth Box represents what it's named after — it was time for everyone to be more truthful with those they felt something for, but more importantly with themselves. And listen, if they didn't say it, someone else was going to.

ABC Wells reacts to the Paradise Truth Box chaos

Of course, things got even more chaotic once Aaron S. broke open the Truth Box and read all the comments about Kat. What do you make of Kat's (very loud) reaction?

What I love about Kat is she's not shy about letting people know how she feels. And by "people," I mean the entire countryside of Sayulita!
