Here’s a little-known fact about “Weird Al” Yankovic: “I know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows Kevin Bacon.”

At least that’s what he claims in his celeb-obsessed stop motion music video for “Lame Claim to Fame,” released on Sunday. Even if it’s not true, it makes for a good follow-up line to the time when Yankovic tried sitting next to Steve Buscemi in a movie theater, only to be told by the actor that “this seat’s taken.”

Yankovic doesn’t stop the name-dropping there. Throughout the song, which draws on the sound of Southern Culture on the Skids, the parodist brags about sitting next to Jonah Hill in a bathroom stall, making eye contact with Jack Nicholson at a Laker’s game, buying a secondhand toaster from a guy who knows Brad Pitt, and having the same birthday as Kim Kardashian.

He admits in the chorus, however, that it’s all just a really “lame claim to fame.”

Yankovic is promoting his new album, “Mandatory Fun,” (released July 15) with eight music videos in eight days. He’s already shared parodies on Pharrell Williams’ “Happy,” Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” Lorde’s “Royals” and Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy.” Yankovic has also vented his frustrations in the Pixies-inspired “First World Problems” and poked fun at overly spirited sports fans in “Sports Song.”

So far, videos have featured cameos by Jack Black, Eric Stonestreet, Aisha Tyler, Margaret Cho, Kristen Schaal, Patton Oswalt, Thomas Lennon and Ben Garant.

Yankovic’s final eighth video is scheduled to drop on Monday.
