Weezer's 'Blue Planet' tour to stop in Columbus in September; here's how to get tickets

Weezer will come to Nationwide Arena on Sept. 7 with The Flaming Lips and Dinosaur Jr. The band is celebrating the 30th anniversary of their self-titled 1994 debut album.

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of their career-defining album, also known as “the Blue Album,” Weezer will bring their “Voyage to the Blue Planet” tour to Nationwide Arena on Sept. 7.

Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets from 9 a.m. Wednesday until 10 p.m. Thursday, and general sales will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at ticketkmaster.com.

VIP presales for members of the Weezer Fan Club will run from 9 a.m. to 11:59 a.m. Wednesday. Fans also can sign up for Weezer’s mailing list on the band’s website, weezer.com, to get access to presale tickets at noon on Wednesday.

With a current lineup consisting of four LA transplants, Weezer's 'Blue Planet' tour will feature the band performing their first album, which features the well-known tracks “Say It Ain’t So,” “Undone — The Sweater Song” and “Buddy Holly,” plus more fan favorites, rare songs and other material.

Weezer will be joined on their anniversary tour by supporting acts The Flaming Lips, who scored a hit in 1993 with “She Don’t Use Jelly,” and Dinosaur Jr., known for songs including “Feel the Pain” and “Start Choppin’”.
