The Weeknd confirms Bella Hadid romance with birthday tribute to his 'angel' — and fans are swooning
The Weeknd put the rumors to rest early Tuesday morning by confirming that yes, his on-again, off-again relationship with Bella Hadid is very much back on again. The news comes courtesy of the singer’s birthday tribute to the supermodel, in which fans got multiple cutesy glimpses of the pair’s adoring dynamic.
In honor of Hadid’s 22nd trip around the sun, the Weeknd, aka Abel Tesfaye, indulged fans with a selection of nine candid images and one fly-on-the-wall video of the pair packing on the PDA in a variety of public places, including a restaurant bar. He captioned the post with a simple “happy birthday Angel” and topped it off with black and red heart emojis.
In the last photo, he is kneeling beside Hadid as the beauty gets the princess treatment, bathing in a tub filled with red rose petals.
And fans are here for it.
“This makes my heart explode,” one wrote. “I know it sounds crazy but they always look so perfect together.” Another commented, “I honestly LOVE them. I hope they stay together forever.”
The Weeknd and Hadid first hooked up back in April 2015, after being spotted getting cozy at the event that’s launched a thousand celeb relationships: Coachella. By that September, the two were inseparable, and Hadid starred in his “In the Night” music video later that year.

All seemed blissful until the couple announced their amicable split in November 2016. While Hadid was later rumored to be seeing Drake, her ex went on to romance Selena Gomez, from whom he split in the fall of 2017.
In recent months, the newly single Hadid and the Weeknd were once again romantically linked. Despite persistent rumors — and eagle-eyed observers piecing together that the pair were apparently in Paris together this summer — the couple has remained coy … until now. How’s that for a happy birthday?
