The Weeknd Celebrates 'Trilogy' 5th Anniversary with New Collection
On November 13, 2012, The Weeknd gathered all three of his remarkable 2011 mixtapes in one place to release a new compilation called Trilogy. The series is widely regarded as The Weeknd’s magnum opus, setting the tone for his drugged-out R&B and vulnerable songwriting through its narrative whole and packaging. Trilogy added three additional songs for new fans who missed his tapes and wanted to dive into the Weeknd experience for the first time. His future releases—Kiss Land, Beauty Behind the Madness, and Starboy—introduced The Weeknd as the pop star, but these earlier works represent the mystery and intrigue we’ve become so attracted to.
Trilogy turns 5 today, and to celebrate, The Weeknd has announced a four-piece, limited-edition collection inspired by the compilation's original artwork. What's more, The Weeknd is pressing his vinyl box set again, limited to 1,000 units. The six-piece vinyl set includes House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Silence.
The collection will also include a special-edition photo set that includes artwork from the Trilogy era as well as a slew of Trilogy merch. You’ll want to cop while supplies last. Head to TheWeeknd.com to purchase and you can preview the lookbook and product below.
