Weekend washout? We have you covered with rain dates, more for Shore's biggest events

Will this weekend be a washout?

So far it's looking like a soaker.

Just in case, we're keeping track of rain dates, if applicable, for some of the Jersey Shore's biggest outdoor events. Many events are on, rain or shine. The list will be updated, so check back - and with event sponsors - for the current status of your event.

Red Gables festival

The third Red Gables open-fire dinner was called off on Thursday.

It was set to return to Red Gables, a private estate on the Navesink River in Red Bank, from Sat., Sept. 23, to Monday, Sept. 25.

"It is with heavy hearts that we must announce the cancellation of the event due to the forecasted heavy rain and high winds," organizers wrote in a statement to ticketholders. "The safety and enjoyment of our festival-goers, artists, vendors, and staff are of paramount importance to us. After careful consideration and in consultation with local authorities, it has become evident that hosting the event under these weather conditions would pose significant risks and challenges."

Nearly three dozen chefs from the tri-state area were set to be cooking during the three-day event, including restaurateur Marilyn Schlossbach, Casey Pesce of d'jeet? in Shrewsbury, Sergio Casal of Capitoline and Bond Street in Asbury Park, Claude Lewis of Freetown Road Project in Jersey City and the teams of The Grand Tavern in Neptune City, R Bar in Asbury Park and La Lupa in Manalapan.

Red Gables, an open-fire dinner with music and art, will take place in Red Bank later this month.

While originally a rain date was planned, organizers said, "We have been working extremely hard to secure a rain date but unfortunately there are certain key elements that could not be coordinated."

Refunds will be issued to ticketholders.

"We promise to come back stronger, creating a festival experience that exceeds your expectations," organizers said.
