Wayne Brady Reportedly Involved In Car Accident Resulting In Physical Altercation

Wayne Brady has reportedly been involved in a car accident that turned into a physical fight.
According to TMZ, Brady’s car was hit by a drunk driver in Los Angeles on Sunday night (Nov. 19), where things got heated between the two shortly after.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff Department also confirmed to PEOPLE that the drivers allegedly “got into an intense argument” that turned into an actual fight when they pulled over to exchange information.
“Wayne is so upset about this incident with a drunk driver,” a source told the publication. “As a father, he was just thankful it was not his daughter or anyone’s child dealing with this. He kept thinking what if it was his daughter.”
Reportedly, the actor/singer was the one who called 911 as the other driver was later arrested on the charges of a hit and run, battery, and DUI. Per the sources, Brady did not need medical attention, but did file battery charges.
In other news, the Kinky Boots star is gearing up to play The Wizard in the Broadway-bound musical, The Wiz — opening next year in NYC. The Lets Make A Deal host shared his excitement to get back on the Broadway stage.
“I can’t say enough how excited I am about being a part of The Wiz. It happened at just the right time,” he shared with Entertainment Tonight. “I’m so happy to just be a part of it.”
Wayne will join a talented cast including Nichelle Lewis, who will play Dorothy, and Alan Mingo Jr., who will also take on the role of the Wiz. R&B singer Deborah Cox is set to play Glinda, Kyle Ramar Freeman as the Lion, Phillip Johnson Richardson as the Tin Man, and Avery Wilson as the Scarecrow.
The Wiz will premiere on Broadway, April 17, 2024.
